Are you a founder wanting to grow?
5 days living "the OK-way"
Your leadership makes all the difference. For your company to really fly you’ll need:
The kind of culture employees queue to join - that goes way beyond ping pong and free bananas.
The kind of leadership that inspires and empowers your team - someone people remember as a great boss.
Positive team dynamics - that give no one the Sunday scaries.
Consistent mental & physical energy and emotional intelligence - which means more than morning yoga and a positive mantra.
Here’s your chance to learn the secrets to all four.
Welcome to our country home. A place where, for 5 days with fellow founders, you’ll superpower your scaleup. Not with more business advice but by focussing, just for a few days, on Project You.
Experience collaborative leadership techniques - brought to life by The London Mozart Players chamber orchestra, a powerful metaphor for good leadership in the business world, and underpinned by the serious social psychology of Transactional Analysis.
Why people come...
Leading better
"I've always struggled to let go. I am a bit of a control freak. I feel like this might be holding us back. We have a great strategy and product but I get worried about the team making mistakes"
Missing something?
"I often wonder if I'm missing something...a better idea, more clients, the point of it all? I am happy enough but curious; perhaps there's more to life, and work, than this. Am I even on the right path? I'm OK as I am, so's my company really, but I'm sure there's more potential..."
Lost
"I've always been very driven, ambitious, upbeat. After a series of challenging events out of work, something shifted. i've kind of lost my mojo. What's happening to me?"
"A CEO in a healthy mental state isn't just better personally. They're better for the organization and their surrounding network. People respond more favorably to leaders when they show compassion" - Forbes.
And yet...
"Over 80% of business leaders show fatigue, low motivation, mood swings, and sleep difficulties" - BUPA
What will my retreat involve?
Welcome to our family home
Green rolling fields, roses, lawns and orchards. A new horizon with space to be you, to learn and explore who you are.
You'll arrive in time for elevenses, group introductions and agreeing house rules, a casual buffet lunch and an afternoon getting stuck in to the fascinating concept of why are you here, how do you lead, and what even is a leader?
Workshops in the Panelled Room
Each day we'll explore a new model for understanding yourself and others. It will be your Drivers one day, Blockers the next, and how you interact with your team. We'll share a new model "the Ok-way" for creating mutually workable relationships based on self-respect, clear communication and empathy.
Let the music begin...
The highlight of the week; The London Mozart chamber orchestra join us for a unique, interactive and immersive exploration of leadership and teamwork.
The classical orchestra is a powerful metaphor for leadership and teamwork in the business world. Immersing yourself in this unique live experience of Transactional Analysis in action allows you to see what it takes to achieve sustainable superior team performance - and hear the difference.
Evenings in the library
After a shared dinner (a roast chicken, hearty pulled pork, veggie nut roast...) the roaring fire of the library awaits.
Curl up with a book, chat with fellow retreaters, or take to the piano for an impromptu singalong if you dare. Here, you're free to be you.
What makes The Sound of Leadership retreat special?
We are qualified Transactional Analyst psycotherapists offering a powerful framework for insight, connection and change.
Most retreats are chilled. This is where many stop.
Immediate boosts to wellbeing - yoga, nice company, eating together, listening to music - can calm the nervous system and raise oxytocin levels.
But chilling on an oxytocin wave doesn't magically change your behaviour or experience of life. It can boost feelings of contentment and connection that already exist, but it doesn't help you consistently be a better leader, friend and partner.
To create the success you want we need to uncover your patterns. For this, we need the professionals...
Philippa Richardson
Founder & Transactional Analyst Psychotherapist
"I coped with being a solo founder thanks to my therapy and discovering the learnings of Transactional Analysis ("TA") - psychology's best kept secret. What I learnt about myself changed both my life and my business. TA is your own personal 360 review; a method of psychology that focuses on your relationships and internal dialogues.
This retreat reveals your patterns of thinking & behaving that limit you and your career: your Script, the Games you play, your Drivers. They were certainly holding me back!
Thankfully I'm aware of them now so they limit me, and our business, far less."
During your retreat we'll explore:
Your unique experiences in life and what makes you you.
The games you play and the Script you follow.
How you create and how to avoid conflict.
How to be an empathic leader, not a critical-controlling one.
Your Drivers and internal Blockers to your leadership and team potential
Situational leadership, mistakes and responsibility
Will Daniel-Braham
Leadership Coach & Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist
"I have over 25 years of experience delivering training and developing leaders and CEO's from start-ups to large organisations. I’ve worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors with leaders from HSBC, Ernst & Young, Stella McCartney, Morgan Stanley to UNICEF and the Fire Brigade.
I also featured as a coach in Channel 4 documentary, 'Ballet Changed my Life' supporting the development of a group of marginalised young people to perform Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet, alongside Birmingham Royal Ballet.
I'm a go-getter, love technology and have been instrumental in the development of small start ups and larger SME’s through coaching, training and the development of staff, managers and leaders."
