For years I’d endured a rollercoaster ride of emotional states — mainly kept to myself and hidden from the outside world — from being gregarious and outgoing, to awfully bleak periods where seeing the wood for the trees was a daily struggle.

I’d learnt to cope, was able to recognise the triggers and could manage the situation. Or at least I thought I could until my partner suggested I speak to someone. I can’t tell you what a weight being lifted that was and the change I saw in myself was palpable. In a really good way too.

I still struggle from time-to-time, but I know more about me and the causes behind my emotions. And I still have a therapist to speak to.
